Subterranean highlights busy weekend for Viva Racing
Classy 3-Year-Old Colt Subterranean kicks off his preparation tomorrow in the Group 3 Up and Coming Stakes over 1300 meters at Kembla Grange (Race 8).
Looks a nice race for Subby after two really strong barrier trials. Hugh Bowman back in the saddle tomorrow and from the outside gate we will be hoping for a touch of luck early on in the race to obtain a nice position.
Expect Subterranean to run on strongly tomorrow and he is a strong eachway proposition in a wide-open race.
Tomorrow’s race will be well short of his Subterranean’ s best and we aim to see him peak in early October in either the Spring Champion Stakes in Sydney or Caulfield Guineas in Melbourne.
The Subterranean story of how the ownership was formed is a great one. Plenty of press over the weekend with Daily Telegraph story below:
Divine Eleven in good form
The improving Divine Eleven looks a strong eachway chance tomorrow at Eagle Farm down in the weights. He was brave last start going down by less than a length at Eagle Farm after working hard during the race from the wide gate and arguably should have made it a hattrick of wins.
Unfortunately Divine Eleven draws poorly again tomorrow and will need luck from the gate to feature.
Favourite Champagne Aunty looks hard to beat in a tough race. Divine Eleven a strong eachway chance with even luck.
Quirky Acumen first up from a spell
The quirky Acumen lines up in race 6 tomorrow at the Gold Coast first up from a spell. The naturally quick horse has more tricks up his sleeve than a magician. Hopefully the good one turns up tomorrow and we can roll forward and prove hard to catch.
He draws well in barrier 2 and is a strong winning chance.
Next week's runners............
Next week should see further action on the track with Stella Reale (Grafton - Monday), Fire in the Hole (Beaudesert - Tuesday) and Sweeping the Board (Murwillumbah – Friday) all expected to line up. Sweeping the Board considered the best chance of the three second up from a spell.
