Derry Grove records a dominant first up win

It was great to see Derry Grove record a dominate first up win at Ipswich last week. The son of Star Turn has plenty of ability, however numerous injuries and a few kinks in his racing pattern have prevented him from getting to the lofty heights we earmarked for him early in his career.

Derry was well ridden by Qld’s leading rider James Orman and will be further improved from a fitness perspective next start.

Shout out to the Matty Dunn team on turning this fella around. Special mention to the trackwork riders at home that have put in plenty of work to see him relax in his races.

Derry’s ownership group are a terrific bunch and have been very patient throughout his career. Many owners have been with Viva Racing since it’s inception and we appreciate their ongoing support.
